SOFTBALL

SELECTION GUIDELINES

Member coaches of the Texas Girls Coaches Association have the privilege

of nominating an outstanding individual to be named as Athlete of the Year in softball.

The head varsity coach of any athlete or support staff receiving an award must be

a member in good standing by the membership nomination deadline. This also

applies to Athlete of the Year, Coach of the Year, and All-Star Coach honors.

All nomination forms must be sent to TGCA by:

Nominees must fulfill the following requirements:

1. May be selected from any grade level from 9 - 12.

2. Be an outstanding athlete in her sport.

3. Demonstrate positive character traits (honesty, loyalty, leadership, cooperative

            attitude).

Two Athletes of the Year will be selected for Softball at the UIL Softball State

Tournament; one athlete from a 1A-2A-3A-4A school and one athlete from a 5A-6A

school.
